Newsletter June 2025

6th June 2025

Imagine not knowing if you’ll be able to feed your children this week. That’s the reality for families we are working with right now. The cost-of-living crisis has brought unimaginable hardship. 44.7% of children in Manchester are classed as living in poverty.

We see this hardship reflected by families forced to make impossible choices between food, heating, and other essentials and the rising demand of our services. In 2024/2025 we saw a 22% increase in individuals accessing our foodbank,  had to purchase 30% of our stock as food donations failed to meet demand, and provided over 31% of our food parcels to children.

This is not right.

Ending hunger together – Widespread hunger isn’t just about food; it’s about not having enough income to afford the essentials. Work alongside us to challenge the policies and mindsets that drive an increase in food bank need.  Urge your MP to challenge the planned benefit cuts HERE
